I was unable to find a small enough pattern for an angel so I designed my own.

My sister and I very much enjoyed watching Master Chef Australia and I thought that their logo would look good embroidered, as it turned out after outlining the shape with stem stitch, the work had pulled in so much and every row around to fill it in was going to pull more, rather than have that happen I used acrlyic paint to fill it in.
The image also shows the hem at the bottom as this is the end of the 8th Panel

Last year for the tour I did a detailed embroidery of a street scene, it took a long time to stitch, this year I didn’t have as much time and had to think of a simpler design, I ended up playing around with the bike design, making it a bit smaller and repeating it in different colours.
To adapt this cadfael design to my sampler I had to simplify the lines, I also turned it upside down because it looked visually better that way.

One of my many collections is elephants, I love them and when I heard that a baby elephant had been born in Australia I couldn’t resist recording his birth on my sampler, he was named Luk chai.

This Pattern is one of my favourites and it is the one that has given me the most problem adapting it to embroidery. Firstly I found that I had to enlarge the pattern to have any hope of reproducing its detail (top line), then that I had to simplify it to get clear detail (bottom line)
I have included a memory to Michael Jackson for my daughter who has grown up listening to his music, The Badge is one from her collection of memorabilia.
