Twin Stockings_04 and My Band Sampler 114 – Details 788 and 789 October 16th, 2008

Portuguese stem stitch, stem stitch and bugle beads

As well as the photos of the original 4 stockings I am looking at all the christmas stockings that I still have in the house and I found this seam on one of them. There is something about this seam that looks particularly Christmassy to me.

That’s what I thought when I saw it in the picture at the top. It’s sort of like one of those things one winds over the banister or drapes from the mantelpiece.

I have just started learning about silk ribbon embroidery and crazy quilting. Found you through Google. Thank you so much for sharing your techniques. When you are talking of a band sampler, are you making a sampler of seam treatments? Sounds like a wonderful idea. Was an aha moment for me! That’s how I can remember these things.
Your stockings are lovely, maybe someday I can show you one of mine when I learn all the techniques!
