I started the details of this piece with aMOP Button Snow Man for Winter Time.
Tonight I finish it with Rubber Thongs on the Beach for Summer Time.
Rubber thongs are classic Australian footwear, personaly I am not very fond of the real thing but when they are only 1/2 inch long they are real cute.
The above image is actual size…In the detail below you can see the pieces of rubber that I cut from a real thong and how I have beaded the straps.
And below is the entire picture.

Your rubber thongs are so cute. And the whole quilt is beautiful. I see the seasons in it. Summer and winter. I have already made one of your snowman in a crazy RR I’m in now. You can see it in my blog.

I just love the thongs. We call them flip flops. I wore them as a child all summer long. Do you drill your shells of purchase them predrilled?

Annie, those are adorable… what a great idea! When we lived in Hawaii during the ’70s everyone wore those constantly… they had straw insoles and we had to buy new ones about every 6 months cuz they wore out. Good times!
