Chasing Dust Bunnies April 11th, 2009

eggsreadytopaint

Tonight I have a few quite moments after a very hectic month, an old friend has been in town and when my daughter got a new bed, a king single to replace a single bed it meant that I had to reorganize her room to fit it in my friend helped and once we were started on cleaning and reorganizing we started on the rest of the house, it has taken a lot of time but has been well worth the effort and I am feeling more organized than I have for many years and now with a clean more organized house I am ready to enjoy easter and have the eggs blown and undercoated ready to paint tomorrow…click her for posts about our painted easter eggs.

A Rare Sight April 8th, 2007

So that we would have plenty of room to work at painting our Easter Eggs, I cleaned off the table and all the benches in my study, I occasionally see the top of my table but clear benches are a rare sight

the painting equipmentMy neice shows off one of the baskets of equipment that she helped me put together…each basket held a pencil, 2 paint brushes, a piece of styrene foam, water bottle, a paper towel, skewers, 2 blown eggs and a chocolate egg…These are the paints we use.

Today we had 9 Painters, painted some delightful eggs and had a lovely time…I will take the detail photos tomorrow in the daylight in the meantime here they are on the table after everyone had gone home.

Knotted buttonhole stitch and easter

or Easter I used the knotted buttonhole stitch as a needle weaving fill to make a basket….I cut the eggs from a CD, drilled holes near the bottom to stitch them on below the line of the basket and painted them with acrylic paint.

A Buzy Day April 1st, 2008

Their first painted egssIt was a buzy day, I had a visit from a quilting friend, who was passing through town, and we had lots of catching up and quilt talk to do…as well my son had a visit from a friend and her 4 year old twins.

The egg painting stuff is still out on the table and I thought it would be nice to let them paint an egg, I found painting smocks and as it was a lovely sunny day they sat outside to paint their first eggs…

I photographed their eggs in the garden because they had both come and told me that I had a lovely garden because it had lots of hiding places for the fairies.
