This seam is Feather Stitch with a second stitch on each stitch to form V shapes…The V Shapes are filled with a silk ribbon straight stitch with the needle being put down through the ribbon but not pulled tight so that the ribbon just starts to roll on the end.

I really like that you photographed it mid-stitch. Most people only show finished products, which makes it difficult to imagine the construction. Great post!

Feather stitch is my favorite one. This is a great variation. Thanks for sharing such great close-ups and the how-to picture.
