Ghiordes Knot or Turkey Rug stitch

Victorian tufting is done by doing a narrow row of herringbone stitch (gold thread) and then doing another row of herringbone stitch (red thread) over the first row…then cut down the middle of both rows and trim to an even length.

Yellow Banksia Rose September 24th, 2006

After I said that I would post a flower a day for September I started to wonder if I actually had 30 different flowers in the garden but now that I am into the last week I know that I can do it because since then different plants have started to blossom like todays Banksia Rose.
